Holistic nutrition for body and mind is a life philosophy that emphasizes on the importance of feeding and nourishing both: body and mind to keep and maintain optimal physical and mental health.
In addition to integrating mental health as part of a self-care routine, I want to make emphasis on the influence that food has on every person’s mood.
Recent studies have shown there is a direct relationship between the gut and the brain and how the foods you eat impact the way you feel every day.
How is that possible?
Because the brain requires specific nutrients so it can produce the chemicals and hormones needed to keep a balance inside your body (all organs working perfectly in harmony with each other). If you are not giving the brain those nutrients, it won’t be able to produce those chemicals and that’s when unbalances in hormones and chemicals production result in chronic diseases and mental illnesses like depression and anxiety.
The National Association of Nutrition Professionals states that “the philosophy of holistic nutrition is that one’s health is an expression of the complex interplay between the physical and chemical, mental and emotional, as well as spiritual and environmental aspects of one’s life and being”.
In that way, holistic nutrition considers the health and healing of a person from a whole point of view where foods, relationships, exercise, career and mindset play an important role during the healing process.
Health coaches and holistic nutrition professionals work with their clients to help them find ways to create simple lifestyle changes that will enhance their overall health.
As a health coach, I work closely with my clients showing them foods that nourish their own unique bodies (considering intolerances, allergies or chronic conditions that affect the proper absorption of nutrients) and ways to nourish their minds so both mental and physical health are covered.
I have focused my practice on three main aspects:
HEALTHY FOODS: we take a look at the foods that nourish your body and that are beneficial to your brain and mood.
POSITIVE MINDSET: We dig deep into the beliefs you have about yourself that are interfering in your personal development and are stopping you from achieving your dreams.

Not only movement heals, but it also helps you increase your serotonin levels (the happy hormone). We will work together to find a workout routine that you enjoy. Mindful exercising will optimize your mental and physical health as you will be enduring your muscles, increasing lung capacity and circulation, practicing self-awareness and releasing beneficial chemicals that improve your mood.
